Our focus is working together to help you with your healthcare needs


Dr Elizabeth Nguyen


Liz is one half of the co-founding team at Brightside Medical. She thoroughly enjoys her work as a General Practioner, in particular the opportunity to connect with people and help with health-related issues. She is friendly, compassionate and comprehensive in her approach. Her consultation style is children-friendly.

Liz completed her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery in 2012. She enjoyed working through a range of clinical experience in the hospital setting, in particular Emergency Medicine, Paediatric Medicine and General Medicine, before she pursued her career in General Practice.

When she is not at work, Liz enjoys going for walks around Williamstown and spending time with family.

Dr Brian Huang


Brian is also the co-founder of Brightside Medical. He is an experienced and highly trained GP with an empathetic and thoughtful manner that people appreciate. He is passionate about providing personalised care to patients.

Brian completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery in 2011. He completed residences in a broad range of disciplines including Paediatric Medicine, Geriatric Medicine and Internal Medicine. He has completed a Certificate in Primary Care Skin Cancer Medicine and provides services in skin checks and excisions. He also has interests in Preventative Health Care and Travel Medicine.

Brian and Liz are a husband and wife team living and working locally in Williamstown with their baby son.



Registered Nurse

Van has been the nurse at Brightside Medical since we opened in April 2019. She has extensive experience having worked in the Emergency Department at Western Health for 8 years. She has also completed post graduate studies in nursing. We are glad that she has chosen to progress her career into GP Nursing.

What we appreciate about Van is her warm, friendly manner and her ability to connect with people. She has 2 gorgeous young boys. In her spare time she enjoys catching up with friends over brunch, going to the movies and spending time with her family.

Registered Nurse




Affectionately known as Robbie, the Brightside team and clients appreciate Robyn for her smiles, warmth and friendly manner. 



Jenny brings to Brightside a good sense of humour and a desire to make people laugh. She makes everyone feel right at home.



Ashleigh is a Willi local who is excited about providing services to her community. She is studying her Bachelor of Nursing degree.

Symmetry Physiotherapy


Abby Speakman

Principal physiotherapist

Abby graduated with a bachelor of physiotherapy from Charles Sturt University in 2009. Since this time she has worked extensively in private practice in Melbourne and has also spent 2 years working in London.

She is a former Victorian and Australian Lacrosse player and is a keen runner. She has worked with state and national lacrosse teams in the past and has also been the physiotherapist for local football teams. Abby is highly trained in treating a wide variety of injuries from neck pain to ankle sprains. She has a passion for treating sports injuries and strives to get her clients back to exercising as soon as possible.

Abby received extensive training on running analyses and coaching whilst working in the UK and loves working with runners to help them to reach their goals. She has completed training with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute and can teach both mat work and reformer Pilates

Tim Fitzgerald


Tim graduated in 2011 from the University of Melbourne with
a Bachelor of Physitherapy. He worked in various physiothrapy practices in
Melbourne before spending time living in Darwin, where he worked with the
Australian Defence Force.

Tim has a strong interest in sports and musculoskeletal
injuries, having worked in high performance environments such as AFL Northern
Territory, Melbourne City and Hockey Victroia. He is also skilled in strength
and conditoining training, having completed his Masters of Exercise Science in
2017 at Edith Cowan University in Perth. This does not limit him to younger
populations as he is passionate about strength training across a lifetime, from
kids to the elderly and everyone in between.

Tim is experienced in treating a wide range of shoulder,
neck, back and knee conditions. He approaches each injury differently based on
the individual and their goals and beliefs, as this is a key component in
contemporary pain science.

In his spare time Tim plays hockey, volleyball and currently
enjoys olympic weighlifting.

Clinical Psychology

Jodie Roper

Clinical psychologist

Dip Teach; GDip (Spec Ed); GDip (Psych); PGDip (Psych); MPsych (Clinical) 

Prior to obtaining her Master’s in Clinical Psychology, Jodie worked for several years in the education and supported employment fields. Following many years of living, studying and working overseas Jodie returned to Melbourne in 2013 in order to further her career as a clinician. 

Her clinical experience includes working in both private clinic and hospital settings where she has worked with clients presenting with a range of mental health issues including mood disorders, anxiety, PTSD, stress and interpersonal difficulties. 

In order to assist others’ achieve their greatest potential Jodie embodies the principles of positive psychology and uses techniques from Cognitive Behavioural, Schema, Solution Focused and Acceptance and Commitment therapies. Jodie works with all clients in a collaborative manner ensuring a positive working relationship in which change, growth and personal development are encouraged and supported.


Stephanie Pirotta


Stephanie Pirotta is a fully qualified accredited practising dietitian and nutritionist who specialises in women’s health: PCOS, endometriosis, fertility and post-partum.

She is also trained in weight management, cardiovascular health, irritable bowel syndrome and allergy. 

Taking a holistic but evidence-based approach to nutrition, her passion is to help others improve their overall health through food, movement and improved self-awareness. Stephanie is currently completing a PhD at Monash University/ Monash Medical Centre focusing on developing a patient-centred lifestyle program for the management of polycystic ovary syndrome. 

She rides her bike every day, loves to relax through yoga and pilates and is always up for cooking and experimenting with new foods! Steph is very excited to be part of the Brightside Medical team.
