In response to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, Brightside Medical will be implementing a series of changes to uphold the principles of social distancing to protect members of our community and staff.




Telehealth consultations are now an option for all existing clients of Brightside Medical.

The only criterion to meet eligibility is that your consultation needs to be booked with a doctor who you have previously consulted in person.  

If during the Telehealth consultation, it is agreed that your physical presence is needed for a comprehensive assessment, an appointment will be made for you to attend the clinic later on the same day.

Telehealth consultations can be booked by calling us on 03 9135 0925, or online via the “Telehealth” appointment type – please select either ‘Respiratory Symptoms’ or ‘Without Respiratory Symptoms’ depending on whether you have a fever, sore throat, cough or shortness of breath.

Telehealth consultations will soon be delivered with Video capacity through your phone or computer. Further details will be released.





To enable a comprehensive assessment whilst still adhering to social isolation principles, we ask ALL clients with a fever or respiratory symptoms (sore throat, cough or shortness of breath) to book a Teleheath consultation first. This consultation will be followed by a 15 minute IN-PERSON consultation for examination and management (organising tests, referrals, prescriptions, medical certificates etc) later on the same day.

Don’t worry though, we have re-organised our appointment book to make sure there is adequate availability to make sure you have your IN-PERSON review on the same day.

Appointments can be booked by calling 9135 0925 or online via the “Telehealth (Respiratory Symptoms)” appointment type.

Please note: We are requesting all clients with the above symptoms to book this way regardless of whether the respiratory symptoms are the reason for the consultation. 



If you have visited Brightside Medical recently, you would have noticed some changes to our waiting room. These changes are made to maintain appropriate social distancing to protect everyone. 

Further to these physical distancing measures, Brightside Medical will at times ask clients to wait outside the clinic until the doctor is ready for their appointment. Of course, everyone is welcome to wait outside / in their car after ‘checking in’, if this is more comfortable.

To minimise the number of people in the clinic, we ask that only the patient and their support person / carer attend their appointment.

We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.




We are constantly reviewing our appointment book and availability to find the right balance – providing sufficient IN-PERSON consultation time whilst also trying to reducing the amount of time clients stay in the clinic. 

For this reason, there will be a reduction in appointment times available for booking online. However, as always, provisions will be made for urgent appointments. If you are not able to book an appointment online for an urgent matter – please call us directly on 03 9135 0925.
